After weeks of hard work, on Tuesday we have 22 September the door of our store officially opened. With a small group consisting of board, members of our new Committee of Recommendation and some people who have made an important contribution to establishing the contact between Zundert and Nicole van Elteren's project in Malawi.
The store and warehouse have been completely redesigned and we hope they can contribute to the pleasure of working in our MalawiShop and protect us against the dangers of the coronavirus. The warehouse will have an extra wall so that the delivery of the goods can take place separately from the warehouse. Goods can now only be offered through the garage door and no longer in the store.
We can be proud of the result. We received many positive reactions from the visitors.
The first week has had a very nice yield.
It goes without saying that things will still be adjusted here and there. We are still in the development phase and that will bring quite a few learning moments in the coming time. And we also need to get to know each other a little better and get used to each other. The board is confident that we will be a lot further along in a few months and that we can build a bright future for the MalawiShop together..
The people of the environmental street team have already removed a lot of stuff to be able to adjust and improve the overview in the spaces. As a result, it was actually impossible to maintain the system of separating the goods for the recycling center. Very annoying. That is why we will do everything we can to get the last adjustments to the warehouse realized as soon as possible.
