Slight

These are exciting times for Teleza, her mother and sisters and of course the family.

Teleza was operated on in Leiden last week. She first underwent a catheterization and a heart valve was repaired that kept shooting into the pulmonary artery. After that, her heart has to recover and as soon as she has strengthened enough, she will have follow-up surgery to close the holes in her heart. Exciting everyone, but the expectations are hopeful.

We heard from some of our volunteers that people are asking questions about the costs of that operation and who will pay the costs.

It is therefore useful to provide some clarity on this.

A separate crowdfunding campaign has been launched for the costs of care and operations at Teleza. In addition, some private individuals and companies have guaranteed the costs. These costs are therefore completely separate and are not at the expense of the Afriana Foundation.

The Afriana Foundation is the foundation that supports Nicole's work in Malawi. With the money that comes in from donations, sponsoring and the actions, she takes care of nutrition, assylum, medical care and education for many children in her shelter and in the region. The proceeds of our MalawiShop also go directly to the Afriana Foundation
