The year 2020 has received a very special load for everyone.

The world has still not recovered from the attack that the Covid virus has perpetrated on everyone's lives. And as we continue to have to stick to the restrictive measures to get this evil disease under control, the heavier it will weigh for many.
Yet it turns out that even in times of adversity, something positive always enters our lives. Because after the beautiful experiences we were allowed to experience during the benefit campaign of Café Malawi, actually the beginning of our collaboration at Nicole's beautiful work in Malawi, A sequel came very quickly in the form of the opening of our own store, by MalawiShop.

On the one hand, you could say that the restrictions of Corona have played a part in the turnover figures achieved. Nevertheless, we can already be very satisfied with the result over the first year (As soon as the annual figures have been compiled, we will publish them immediately on the website). On the other hand, it may have been very good that we were able to work on opening the store in a somewhat controlled way.. Every disadvantage has it's advantage, not true?
The warehouse space is now optimally equipped without this work having caused too many restrictions on the functioning of the store. Extra bells have been placed in the warehouse so that visitors to the store and people who drop off goods can be heard properly. As a matter of course, the routing of the store has been adapted to the new one and a half meter principle. The result is that the layout of the store has resulted in a much more natural whole. Camera surveillance has been installed between all closures, extra shop lighting, we can now accept debit card payments and we have a well-functioning internet connection in the store and warehouse.

A lot has already been achieved, and the store could count on a lot of customers from day one. Add to that the fact that the choice to also offer articles via the internet has led to very nice sales results. All that under the inspiring leadership of the ladies of the store who have become increasingly used to each other. And of course the people who ensure that the warehouse is always in order and the flow of goods is managed in an even manner, not to mention the people who take our surplus items to the municipal recycling center..

Together we are going to have a very bright future and we can mean a lot to the children in Malawi.
